This French brand claims to have corrected the defects in its connected ring

After a first Ring Slim ring which had difficulty attracting customers, the French manufacturer Circular claims to have corrected most of the hardware and software problems.

At the end of last year, the French manufacturer Circular was already preparing for the arrival of Samsung’s connected ring by presenting what was then the thinnest connected ring on the market, the Circular Ring Slim. Since then, we have had the opportunity to test the health ring. If the first feedback was not the most enthusiastic, Circular announced this Wednesday a redesign of its ring by offering a new version with both hardware and a software improvement.

A promise of improvement

With this redesign of the Ring Slim, Circular promises “ lots of new features and improvements » and assures that he has “ improved all the negative points “.

In detail, Circular indicates that it has notably improved the resistance of the connected ring to scratches thanks to an exterior coating combining black titanium and carbon fiber. As a reminder, the first version – which we tested – offered a titanium and aluminum alloy and was particularly sensitive to scratches. As on the first iteration of the Ring Slim, and unlike the previously launched Ring Pro, it will however be impossible for users to change the exterior coating to modify the appearance of the ring.

The new Circular Ring Slim is also more water resistant, with IP68 certification, compared to simple splash resistance for the first version. Circular also indicates that it has revised its magnetic charging system, with smaller and rounded connectors. The ring, however, retains one of its main advantages over the competition, namely its haptic vibration motor and a tactile surface which will allow, for example, to set an alarm at fixed times.

From a software point of view too, Circular indicates that it has improved its copy, notably with more reliable measurements for monitoring sleep or heart rate. Sports training sessions can also be recorded, with continuous heart rate monitoring. The same goes for the ring data synchronization, announced as much faster than on the first version. Finally, on the mobile application, Circular claims to have improved the display of data to make it more easily understandable.

Price and availability of the Circular Ring Slim

The new version of the Circular Ring Slim has been available since Wednesday on the French manufacturer’s website. The ring is only available in black at a price of 259 euros.
