The rumors surrounding a new free Sonic game seem to have been true, since gameplay of the latter has just been leaked on the Web. And it strongly resembles a game that everyone knows.
For a long time, the Sonic franchise remained in the shadows, without the shadow of a new opus to bring everyone together. Of course, the situation has changed since then, and now we have some great projects on the horizon. We are obviously thinking of the remaster of Generations, but also of the third film which is due to be released in cinemas. And that’s all ? Well no, since another game has just been the victim of a leak, and this is not the first time we have heard about it. For good reason, it would take up a concept which found great popularity in a certain title called Fall Guys.
A new Sonic game has leaked, and it’s free
About a month ago, Insider Gaming said it was in possession of several videos from a rather unusual mobile game. It’s called Sonic Toys Party, and it would feature the blue hedgehog and his gang in a Fall Guys-style multiplayer experience. In short, a title where we compete in a series of mini-games, until only one player remains standing, the big winner of the game. Needless to say, it works wonderfully. Of course, it was just a rumor and in the absence of a video or images to sink our teeth into, we had to take it with a grain of salt. But that’s it, gameplay has leaked.
It was the Youtube channel The Sonic Show which spilled the beans by revealing a trailer for this famous Sonic Toys Party. It is currently no longer available, which reinforces the fact that we are dealing with something serious. However, many users managed to recover it, giving us a first glimpse of this rather special new free-to-play game. According to the Sonic Stadium account, it would be in development at Sega Networks, which gave birth to Sega Pocket Club Manager. So, what do we see in the video?
We can see the characters from the Sonic universe (Amy, Knuckles, Tails, etc.) taking part in various and varied events which look very nervous and quite amusing. At the moment, games look like they can accommodate a total of 32 players. Please note, Sega has not confirmed anything, even if it seems very credible. The latest rumor tells us of a release for this summer. Therefore, if it turns out, we will surely know more in the coming months.
