And over the last three years, many French people have purchased one. “The interest of French people is growing in fryers in general with demand increasing by 119% between 2021 and 2023”explains Stéphanie van den Hende, idealo France communications manager.
This craze for fryers can be explained by the arrival of oil-free fryers on the market. Indeed, previously, a fryer was synonymous with fatty food but also with bad smells in the house. As a result, French homes were not very equipped with fryers. But thanks to new technology oil-free fryers, fries are now welcome at the table, to the greatest pleasure of children!

“We are particularly noticing a craze for oil-free fryers with Ninja, the French’s favorite brand: this demonstrates the French’s desire to reconcile taste pleasure and health concerns”, explains Stéphanie van den Hende. According to idealo, there is a good time to buy a fryer to save money.
In fact, idealo experts recommend purchasing a deep fryer in the month of September, since it is the month of the year when the price is the lowest. However, you should not expect to find a fryer at half the price at this time of year but only at 2.59 euros less than the price observed in April, the period when consumers purchase this household appliance the most.

So, a fryer costs 96.70 euros in September compared to 99.29 euros in April. Concerning the brand of the fryer, idealo has selected the 10 brands preferred by the French. And that’s the brand Ninja which has convinced consumers thanks to its promise of healthy and efficient cooking. In second position we find the brand Phillips, followed by brands Moulinex, Tefal and SEB, respectively in third, fourth and fifth positions.
