What is this Lego crane?
The Liebherr Crawler Crane is a Lego Technic which represents a nice assembly challenge. It is also and above all one of the largest models in the Technic range to date. Measuring over 100cm high, 110cm long and 28cm wide and 2,883 pieces in total, make sure you have enough room to build and display it. Although Lego recommends this set for people aged 18 and over, the crane can be built by younger children as long as they are accompanied during assembly.
This reproduction of one of the most powerful cranes in the world is packed with detail, and it would indeed be a shame not to make it available to brick lovers of all ages. This set is equipped with many fun functions such as the rotating platform, the lifting boom and the winch. A load detection system is also present, and more than twenty ballast elements constitute a counterweight of almost 1 kg.
Is this Lego on sale worth it?
Even on sale, almost €500 for a Lego is a high price. But if you have a passion for construction machinery, the €200 reduction on its initial price is a very good deal. The Control+ application, available on iOS and Android, allows you to remotely control your model on your smartphone or tablet. Controls are accessible via a personalized dashboard, practical for young people. You can have fun with the crane steering, rotating platform, lifting boom and load sensing. You will also have access to information transmitted in real time by the model.
Note that the set comes with two smart hubs and six large motors to power the travel functions. Unfortunately, the twelve LR AA batteries needed to operate the set are not included.
