After four intense days of artistic creations on the subreddit r/placeInternet users now offer a large interactive atlas to explain each work represented on the final canvas of Reddit which is dated April 4.
The opportunity to explore with more precision this gigantic digital fresco filled with pixel art creations which each have their own story.
After collaboration, collaboration
From 1er On April 4, a huge event was held at r/place, bringing together millions of Reddit users from all over the world. The goal was to create, from a blank canvas, a large mosaic of pixels with the possibility for everyone to lay a tile every 5 minutes. The event ended on Monday against a backdrop of clashes between the communities and the fine-tuning of the final details of the drawings. It is therefore time to take stock of what has been drawn during these four days.
A developer, named Roland Rytz, has developed a large collaborative atlas open to everyone to help explain each drawing represented. This is therefore an opportunity to walk around the fresco and gather information on how certain works were created, their meaning or the dramas linked to them. To date, more than 6500 entries are available for reading on the atlas.
Obviously, who says collaborative atlas open to everyone says opposition of points of view, and works particularly decried by certain communities find themselves decked out in contradictory explanations posted by their detractors and their defenders. But we learn a lot of interesting things, like this war between a Ukrainian streamer and a GTA RP community that ended when the former realized that the community in question had raised $100,000 for his country at war.
