The innkeepers have been waiting for this permission for a long time: From May 31, they will finally be able to open their interiors again.
Brigitte Dietrich (45) is beaming: She can finally work normally again. She is a hostess with heart and soul Restaurant Schafräti in Herisau ARwhere her parents were already staying. The Schafräti has no terrace and was also not a Büezer pub – apart from a take-away lunch menu, it was completely closed for five months due to Corona.
«Now I am so much looking forward to my guests and my employees. I missed her very much. Because we’re like a family here, ”says Dietrich. The Appenzeller reveals: “On Monday there will be Hörnli with Ghacktem.”
Window cleaning and dusting
Before we start, we do some cleaning: Dietrich takes out a window cross and cleans the windows with a damp cloth. “I don’t like cleaning the windows that much,” says Dietrich. “You get dirty again quickly because of the road.” Then she dusts the showcase and fills the drinks – after all, everything should be ready for the first visitors on Monday. There were also new tables. “The old ones had different colors, now everything is nice and uniform. I hope my guests like it. “
In the lockdown, she sometimes overtook a certain melancholy. “But because of my youngest boy, I got up every morning, then I made the take-away menu and in the afternoons I often went horse riding. And we often played games with the kids. So I was still able to enjoy the free time. ” Nevertheless, she missed the work in the dining room. “And now I’m just so happy that it’s starting again.”
Lockdown finally ended: “I’m so looking forward to guests and employees”(01:14)
