This is how Twitter will flag edited and reposted tweets

Twitter continues to work on the feature most expected by users.

An editing function whose first tests should be launched soon, via Twitter Blue.

New for Twitter’s Edit function

At the beginning of April, Twitter mentioned the long-awaited “Edit a Tweet” function. Quickly, the social network wanted to indicate that it was not just any April Fool’s joke, and that a function allowing you to modify your messages a posteriori was indeed in the boxes.

Recently, it was Jane Manchun Wong who posted various screenshots, showing how this future function should look.

On the social network, Twitter will obviously take care of displaying the new version of a tweet by default, ie the one with the correction made by the user. The tweet will nevertheless be accompanied by a mention “ Last edition to… “. In the case of an integrated tweet (on a website for example) which has been modified subsequently by its author, the social network will indicate, under the message, that a new version of this tweet is available.

At present, Twitter has not yet officially started rolling out this feature, and it is quite possible that the display will change once the feature becomes available. This should be tested first by subscribers to Twitter Blue, before (we hope in any case) to be deployed to all users.
