Emma and Dexter make Netflix subscribers’ hearts beat! Here’s what you need to know about Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall, the two main actors in the drama “One Day”, the new essential romantic series on the platform.
Fourteen episodes, two decades, a love story… this is the program for the series One Day, available on Netflix. Adapted from the worldwide bestseller by David Nicholls, this successful fiction tells the story of Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew who, on July 15, 1988, the evening of their graduation, speak to each other for the first time.
The next morning, everyone goes their separate ways. But where will they be on this ordinary day next year, the year after that, and all the years after that? Each episode allows us to find Dexter and Emma on the same date year after year and to see them evolve, change, get closer and further apart, go through moments of joy and sorrow.
Created by Nicole Taylor, this new series arrives thirteen years after the film adaptation of Lon Scherfig with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess and One Day series version brings a new dimension and a new look to this cult romance.

The designer chose to rely on two faces unknown to the general public to embody this new iteration of the couple Emma and Dex. You may have seen them in other works, but One Day should be THE series that will bring them much greater exposure.

Ambika Mod is Emma Morley
British actress, comedian and writer Ambika Mod is the daughter of Indian immigrants who developed a passion for theater and sketch comedy at university. She participates in several festivals performing in troupes and also performs improvised comedy at the Free Association in London.
Ambika Mod made her first foray into the world of television with participation in an episode of the series Trying and two episodes of the series I Hate Suzie Too. But it was the medical drama This Is Going To Hurt, in which she played Shruti Acharya, alongside Ben Whishaw, that she gained a little notoriety.

Leo Woodall as Dexter Mayhew
Coming from a family of actors, Leo Woodall was destined for a career in sport before choosing acting at the age of nineteen after watching the series Peaky Blinders. After graduating, the young man began working in television with appearances in soap operas and short films.
He then took his first steps on the big screen with the film Cherry, directed by the Russo brothers, and distinguished himself in the series Vampire Academy. Leo Woodall gets his first major role in season 2 of The White Lotus, playing Jack, a tourist who comes to spend vacation with his uncle Quentin (Tom Hollander).
He was then seen in the action series Citadel on Prime Video. Furthermore, Leo Woodall was chosen from 28,000 candidates for the film Nomad, which was filmed in more than twenty countries from 2019 to 2023. We do not yet know when this project will be released.
