Actress Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe) is currently rewatching episodes of the series “Friends” for the first time in her life in order to see her comrades play, but particularly the late Matthew Perry.
Matthew Perry passed away on October 28 at the age of 54. Since the actor’s death, his Friends colleague Lisa Kudrow has been paying tribute to him by rewatching for the first time episodes of the series that propelled them both to stardom, and which this year celebrates the 30th anniversary of its debut in September 1994 and the 20th anniversary of its end in May 2004.
At the microphone of Hollywood Reporterthe interpreter of Phoebe admits:
Honestly, I couldn’t watch her because it’s very embarrassing to watch yourself, but if I do it for Matthew, then it’s OK. It just celebrates how hilarious he was and that’s what I want to remember.
Why did it take her 20 years to see even the slightest episode?
However, it was difficult for the actress to see herself playing. This is why she had always forbidden herself from watching Friends. But the death of “the one who” played Chandler changed everything, as she confided with her natural humor:
This is my little way of celebrating [l’anniversaire de la série], I watch it. But it’s embarrassing. At home, if someone walks into the room and I’m watching Friends, I think it’s a hell of a sight, don’t you?
But even when discovering the edited and rhythmic series for the first time, Kudrow above all realized to what extent the series works thanks to its partners:
Where have we seen Lisa Kudrow since the end of Friends? Answer: in many beautiful things!
“I’m laughing out loud because everyone is so funny. I’m blown away by Courteney Cox, by Jen. Matthew, obviously, is really unique and hilarious. Nobody had that comedic cadence and rhythm before him. Matt LeBlanc is great funny, like David Schwimmer, sometimes I even laugh at one of my jokes!”
Lisa Kudrow will soon be starring in the series Bandits, bandits, adapted from the film of the same name. It will be released on AppleTV+, supervised among others by Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).
