The series follows the extraordinary journey of Sara, Noémie, Patty, Karen, Valérie and Morgan. The 6 women go on a hike to attack the Dôme de la Lauze, which culminates at 4000 meters. They want to scatter the ashes of a mutual friend who died of cancer. A disease that affects them all, directly or indirectly. Clémentine Célarié interprets the role of Noémie. A character she had no trouble identifying with, since the filming took place while the actress herself was in remission from colon cancer. Moreover, she confided to us that she had integrated in The Hikers a “souvenir” of this period. “Besides, my wig is used in Les Randonneuses. I told them, already it saves money because it costs a blind all the same, 2000 euros mine. And then I was happy to use it there. It’s not that the character just ‘looks like’ me, it’s that we put everything of us.” A character to whom she felt so close that she wanted to remain as natural as possible, leaving its white roots exposedand wearing very little makeup, agreeing to shoot almost naked.
When asked if the filming of this series had been cathartic for her, Clémentine Célarié was cash as usual. It wasn’t shooting a series about cancer, or her role as Noémie that pushed her and helped her. “It is not painful, on the contrary, because it is the truth. All these women are concerned, even though they have not experienced it directly or indirectly. The mountain, running, swimming, yes, that’s part of the aftercare. But above all what I found here, friendship and benevolence with these women. They’re not just nice to me ’cause I had cancer, there’s a miraculous chemistry“. An assertion that was immediately confirmed by the other actresses present at his side.
