This mixed first name enjoys great popularity across the Channel

At the heart of trends, first names unisex increased by 56% in England and Wales. Among our English neighbors, where unisex first names are on the rise, first names Marlowe and Noa are in the lead list for girls by gaining 266 and 190 places compared to the year 2020-21. Among the other names that are popular at the moment, we find Oakley, Blair and Ronnie, all of which are making their way into the Top 1000 names given to little girls. As for the list of boys, the latter includes Ren, Ocean and Sunny which gains 195 places in the Top 1000.

Another surprising trend, Disney-themed names would also be a sensation according to Sarah Redshaw, editor-in-chief of BabyCentre in the United Kingdom. She told the Mirror: “It’s possible that parents take inspiration from celebrities and their recent Disney-inspired first names. Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury named their daughter Bambi, and Stacey Dooley named hers Minnie; “So we could see an increase in searches for Disney first names.”.

While some parents name their children after the protagonist of their favorite Disney, others seem to be more inspired by the wild west. This other unexpected trend is said to be booming.
