This mode of Modern Warfare 2 would be paying according to an insider

Tom Henderson has said that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s future “DMZ” mode will not be free-to-play when the game is released.

Call of Duty fans have already seen what they can expect from the next MW2 game when the Campaign mode preview went live during Summer Game Fest. On top of that, screenshots of some Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer maps have leaked in the past few days.

New information continues to shed light on the next Call of Duty game, especially about the DMZ mode which is still shrouded in mystery. Despite the limited information we currently have regarding this special game mode, a recent report from leaker Tom Henderson states that the mode in question will not be free.

Fans might just be a little upset with the latest news regarding MW2.

DMZ mode should be a completely new experience on Call of Duty, based on extraction just like the game Escape from Tarkov. We don’t know much more about it, but Tom Henderson had already revealed that DMZ and MW2 were going to share a map containing classic Modern Warfare 2 points of interest.

This July 4, Henderson released a new report detailing new information about DMZ.

“Modern Warfare 2 DMZ will not be a Call of Duty 2023 free-to-play game.”

It would seem that the mystery around this game mode in its own right has created false rumors, including the one that made a large part of the players believe that DMZ is a free game experience like Warzone. Tom Henderson reported it: “While DMZ may become free in the future, that’s not the plan right now. Instead, DMZ would tie into Modern Warfare 2 as another game mode.”

We can’t wait to have new official information about this promising game mode linked to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 universe!
