This mother carried her daughter's baby

Jessica Bradford and Rees Jenkins became parents to a baby boy thanks to Julie, Jessica’s mother who carried their baby for nine months.

This is the great story of the day! This couple from the United Kingdom welcomed a little boy with the sweet name of Jack. A first child whom Jessica Bradford, 25, and Rees Jenkins, 30, had through a surrogate mother, who is none other than Jessica's mother. Julie Calwyn, 49, carried their baby for nine months and her daughter even cut the umbilical cord in the delivery room.

It all started in 2015, when Jessica was only 18 years old, she had cancer and she just learned that she could not have children. At that time, she was one of the youngest women to be diagnosed with cervical cancer. "She gave me the choice to leave but it was never going to happen because I loved her too much", says her boyfriend. "But we were told that Jessica's only hope of becoming a mom was to collect her eggs and freeze them. At first, the doctors didn't think there was time because they wanted her to start chemotherapy. Jessica begged them to try and her chemotherapy was delayed for a week. During this time, they took 21 eggs from her and 10 survived. ”

A devoted mom

The mother then offers to carry the couple’s baby, using Jessica’s oocytes and Rees’s sperm collected while Jessica was undergoing radiation therapy. On December 2, 2016, Julie was in remission while her mother carried their baby while taking medication to help her carry the pregnancy to term in May 2016. "It was so nice of him. We talked about surrogacy with a stranger, but we felt it was safer in our family. ”, says the father. "Of course, it was a bit surreal and it's hard to put into words. I guess I was a bit unsure and nervous at first, but Julie was amazing however, and she would tell Jessica and me when our baby kicked her and we would both feel her belly. I went to all the baby ultrasounds and when Julie started labor, I was there. ”

In May 2016, little Jack finally pointed the tip of his nose. “When Jack was born, Jessica cut the cord, then I held our son for the first time. I just couldn't speak, it was so magical. Our baby looked like Jessica. I will never forget the joy on her face – she was sobbing and saying "thank you, thank you" to her mom. It was one of the best moments of our lives. ”

Since Jack grew up, from the age of three, he loved football, his trampoline and animated films, including Hulk, Spider-man and Toy Story. "He always argues with me and likes to tease me. He is very playful but so much fun. He also loves our two dogs Molly and Frankie ", says the father. “Jessica was born to be a mom and watching her with Jack is just amazing. She is my hero. "

An adorable little family!
