This mother confides in the perinatal grief experienced by her daughter

Two years ago, Yolanda lost her baby a few days after birth. Alice's sudden death was difficult for her older sister, who imagined herself thriving and growing up with her.

Each year, 7,000 families are affected by perinatal bereavement, whether during pregnancy or childbirth. Yolanda, better known as "parlez_moidelle" on Instagram, chose to talk about this ordeal through the eyes of Alice’s older sister. “Children are often the big ones forgotten. I have sometimes waited anyway at her age it will pass, she does not understand. People forget that they had projected themselves into their future role and like us they have to face what others have and what they no longer have ”, she writes on Instagram.

Alice lived for 15 days in 2019. Her death plunged her family and older sister into incomprehension and sadness. A few months later, a friend of hers would become a big sister in turn, so having lost her little fear, her daughter no longer considered herself legitimate in this role. "I want my girlfriend's sister to die", then entrusts the little girl to her mother. “The difficulty was to make her understand that she was a big sister and would remain so. Even before his girlfriend, that this role had not been withdrawn from him despite Alice's death ”, explains Yolanda. “I realized how badly she was in pain. She who had planned to show her sister to everyone, could not do it, like me in the end ”.
