Produced by A24 and the Russo brothers, directors of Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, Everything Everywhere All at Once explores the multiverse.
The feature film follows Evelyn Wang (Yeoh), the manager of a laundromat who finds herself overwhelmed by family and professional chaos. To top it off, she must pay her taxes to the inflexible taxman Deirdre Beaubeirdra (Jamie Lee Curtis). But something unusual happens: her husband Waymond (Ke Huy Quan) suddenly claims to come from another universe and tells her that she must save the entire multiverse, threatened by a dark force.
Evelyn must then activate the abilities of her variants from other universes and gain insight into what her life might have been like had she made different choices.

As with their previous film, the Daniels play heavily on the absurd while dealing with real topics such as the mother / daughter bond or the importance of knowing how to enjoy the present moment.
This crazy sci-fi comedy with a wacky pitch has dethroned Parasite in the list of the best films of all time on the Letterboxd site. As for Rotten Tomatoes, Everything Everywhere All at Once has a total of 97% good reviews on the Tomatometer and 96% positive opinions from Internet users. The multiverse therefore seems to convince viewers beyond the MCU.
It remains to be seen whether the film will remain at the top of this top since Everything Everywhere All at Once is, for the moment, released on a limited number of copies in the United States.
For the anecdote, when the project was announced, the film was to be led by Jackie Chan, but the directors changed the sex of their main protagonist and offered the role to Michelle Yeoh.
