Excellent news for our gamer friends: LG has just rolled out a new and sumptuous PC screen from the UltraGear range.
After unveiling its new and promising generation of OLED panels, the South Korean LG is proud to present to us the length, breadth and width of its new monitor for gamers.
LG 49GR85DC-B: high-end specs, but…
LG’s UltraGear range now welcomes a whole new member to its small family, and not least, since it is a 49-inch curved monitor. Bearing the reference “49GR85DC-B”, the latter displays a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 px and offers a refresh rate of 240 Hz. It also benefits from AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology, which promises gamers and gamers a tear-free experience as well as dramatically reduced lag times.
With an announced response time of 1 ms and an ultra-wide aspect ratio of 32: 9, future buyers of the beast will undoubtedly be able to enjoy a very nice screen for their gaming evenings. Proof of its high-end status, this monitor is DisplayHDR 1000 certified, which in particular allows you to enjoy pretty colors and lovely contrasts.
However, despite its many qualities, the LG 49GR85DC-B may not actually be as perfect as it seems (although it is still excellent).
… no OLED and too high a price?
Before addressing the question of price, which is undoubtedly one of the main purchase criteria, it should still be noted that this monitor unfortunately does not sport an OLED panel. You will indeed have to rely on the presence of an LCD panel, which may disappoint many of you. Finally, regarding the price, it will cost no less than 1,299 dollars to get your hands on it. Yes, you will have to start saving now…
Anyway, for those who would like to get the monitor, know that LG will offer you an UltraGear mouse pad for any pre-order made before April 2. The first shipments will take place the next day.
