The Segway manufacturer has presented a new electric scooter called the E110A. Expected in Europe under 3000 euros, this two-wheeler boasts a decent technical sheet for its future price.
If electric cars have occupied an increasingly important place in the media in recent years, electric scooters do not fall into oblivion. On the contrary, the sector is active and sees more and more players strengthening their offer. This is the case, for example, of Segway, a subsidiary of the Chinese group Ninebot.
Like the relay Electrek, the company presented a new model known as the Segway E110A, as part of a press day. Its simple but elegant design is effective, marked by a padded seat and an always welcome center stand to add a little practicality.
For two people
This 50 cc equivalent is obviously intended for urban use due to its maximum speed of 45 km/h. Its small size does not prevent it from receiving a passenger in the back for two-person trips: always practical, even if the comfort of users is generally degraded in this type of situation.
Its 1.1 kW motor placed in the rear hub is supported by a 1.8 kWh battery delivering a range of 57 kilometers. For the city and short or medium trips, it is suitable. The load climbs to 6am. There is also a 27-litre underseat space and disc brakes to ensure good braking.
Towards an affordable price
This scooter is accompanied by the Segway-Ninebot application, which allows you to locate your vehicle in real time. Remote software updates are also included.
Segway does not communicate on its availability or its release date, but would clearly have international ambitions for this model. Moreover, the brand already has a European offer with its affordable E110S, sold for 2299 euros. We expect a price in the same price range for the Segway E110A.
