Close to a gravel bike, the Scott Silence eRide fitness type e-bike weighs less than 15 kg with its complete equipment and premium components. But he charges a high price for his charms.
The electric bike does not necessarily come with heaviness, and there is no need to opt for a racing machine to reduce weight. Brands are competing for lightweight models, as shown by the new Scott Silence eRide, a fitness VAE weighing less than 15 kg.
Between Vélotaf and VAE gravel?
The Swiss electric bike even weighs 14.5 kg, including equipment for everyday riding: a kickstand, mudguards and a front luggage rack. The latter, however, can only accept a small bag up to 7 kg.
The Silence eRide uses carbon extensively, for its frame, its fixed fork, its handlebars, and even its crankset, to reduce its weight as much as possible. It even integrates a SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 12-speed electronic transmission, which further refines the bike which does a nice job on the integration of cables and lighting.
This transmission could also direct the bike towards gravel riding, but the very smooth Schwalbe Super Moto tires do not necessarily allow this.

Still with the aim of making it lighter, Scott chooses the TQ HPR50 central motor, weighing less than 1.8 kg for a torque of 50 Nm. The non-removable battery is integrated into the diagonal tube, but still offers 360 Wh, sufficient to exceed 50 km per charge. You can add the 160 Wh extender, but be careful of the bill which would increase in this case.
A Scott Silence electric bike at an exorbitant price
Beautiful, light, modern, the Scott Silence eRide lives up to its name, because we are left speechless at the announcement of the price: 7,499 euros!
The choice of transmission and carbon components is expensive, not to mention the very high-end SRAM Level Silver Stealth brakes. Available in 5 sizes – XS to XL – this model is available in a single white color.
