Ring’s new connected doorbell offers advanced security features, all in a format that does not require a power connection. It thus has an HD video format with a viewing angle from head to toe, but also and above all an on-board radar. This allows you to benefit from 3D motion detection to retrace a visitor’s steps on the map, an innovation previously reserved for wired doorbells.
Ring, a subsidiary of Amazon, is one of the pioneering brands in the field of connected doorbells. It offers a wide range of products, both electrically connected and battery powered. The first range offers more advanced features, in particular because energy consumption has no impact on the autonomy of the product. There are several models that are equipped with on-board radar and therefore 3D motion detection, like the Video Doorbell Pro 2.
As for battery-powered products, Ring was beginning to lag behind the competition and its electrically connected range, with the lack of head-to-toe vision and radar. The first defect was recently corrected with the arrival of the Battery Doorbell Plus, which has head-to-toe vision, while the new Battery Doorbell Pro has radar and 3D motion detection.

The Battery Video Doorbell Pro notably features HD video quality (1536p) with a viewing angle of 150º horizontal and vertical, which allows you to see who is at the door from head to toe. Additionally, the doorbell features color night vision and Audio+ with echo cancellation for clearer conversations.
Like most other Ring products, the new Video Doorbell Pro 2 manages movement and privacy zones, thus limiting unwanted notifications while promising not to intrude on the user’s privacy. Its main asset is the on-board radar, which allows a “sky view” of the movements captured by it. This is a flagship feature of the brand that can be found in particular on the Spotlight Cam Pro.
As for its power supply, the Battery Video Doorbell Pro uses Ring’s standard battery, which is found on the majority of its products. Although this has the merit of being interchangeable with the brand’s other products, it still uses a micro-USB connector which is more obsolete than ever in 2024. Finally, the doorbell also offers parcel and person recognition, for a fee subscribing to a Ring Protect subscription.
In terms of design, the new doorbell resembles the Battery Doorbell Plus in every way, and thus uses the principle of interchangeable fronts. It remains thick enough to accommodate both the battery, but also the radar and the camera.

The new Ring Battery Doorbell Pro will be available from March 20 for a price of 230 euros.
