And you found that the GeForce RTX 4090 was too expensive? Admittedly, the two products clearly do not target the same audiences.

If the card was unveiled in September, the RTX 6000 is only beginning to land at certain retailers. At the same time, it’s not like you’re expecting that card that would make the RTX 4090 look like a toy.

Nearly 2,000 more CUDA cores

Technically, the RTX 6000 is however designed on the same GPU base. It is about the AD102 when the RTX 4090 integrates the AD102-300. But these three additional digits change things considerably.

Indeed, the AD102 has 18,176 CUDA cores, while the AD102-300 has to make do with 16,384. There are also 142 stream multiprocessors against 128 in the case of the RTX 4090 GPU.

On the other hand, the frequency remains the same (2.5 GHz), but NVIDIA integrates 48 GB of GDDR6X memory on the RTX 6000. This memory only runs at 20 Gbps on a 384-bit bus, which gives a bit lower bandwidth than on the RTX 4090: 960 GB / s against 1008.

Over $8,000

While the 24 GB of GDDR6X are already oversized for video games, you can imagine that the RTX 6000 is not intended to take pride of place in your PC. This is a graphics card intended for workstations.

Anyway, there is no question of an affordable price, because as we said in the preamble, the card is still much more expensive than the RTX 4090. The first retailers to include it in their catalogs offer it between 7 380 and 8,210 dollars approximately.

Officially, this RTX 6000 is not yet marketed, but with these listings of resellers, the page that NVIDIA devotes to it and the publication of the drivers, we bet that it will not be long.

By the way, if you are wondering what, in fact, this RTX 6000 can change compared to an RTX 4090, NVIDIA clarifies things in this page dedicated to the latest drivers in the range.
