Consumers are also advised not to eat this sausage which presents a real health risk. Indeed, consuming a product contaminated with salmonella can lead to gastrointestinal disorders (diarrhea, vomiting), accompanied by fever and headaches which occur between 6 and 72 hours after consumption of the contaminated products. Children, pregnant women, the elderly and immunocompromised people are particularly sensitive to these symptoms and must consult a doctor quickly after ingesting the dry sausage.

Good to know, products such as hard-boiled eggs, pastries or even poultry meat must be cooked through to the core at +65°C. This destroys these bacteria and prevents the consequences of such contamination.
