Presented at the Taipei show, this seat tube from local manufacturer Metal Upward incorporates a Supernova light at its heart. Original.
The Taipei Cycle is a gigantic event to discover new electric bikes such as the Acer, or even a possible future Xiaomi VAE. But components and other accessories also have their place, with a seat tube signed by Metal Upward which caught our attention.
A Supernova light integrated into the tube, you had to think about it
This product has the romantic name of SPA-S0T3, but the commercial name of E-Dropper Post. The E is suggestive, since what distinguishes our electric bike element of the day is the light. Completely integrated at the top of the tube, it sends the wiring downwards with a plug to connect to the battery.
“Thanks to the electronic system of electric bicycles, we believe we can integrate more electronic components into traditional parts,” explains the brand. On the other hand, Metal Upward does not communicate the light intensity of this bicycle rear light, nor whether it is fixed or with a possible flashing function. However, we recognize the Supernova TL3 Mini, a product with fixed lighting, and an intensity of 72 lumens. She is tiny, measuring only 6cm tall.
This seat tube therefore allows you to free yourself from the stress of forgetting or systematically carrying a removable light, without the risk of having it stolen. And let’s not forget that the saddle is telescopic, with a height of 150 or 200 mm to choose from. Available in diameters of 30.9 and 31.6 mm, the Metal Upward E-Dropper Sport seat tube will also be available in 33.9 and 34.9 mm in October 2024. As for the price, it is currently unknown.
