Today nothing seems to be able to calm the situation between princes Harry and William. The youngest, exiled in California seems to have opted for the warlike option. One day, however, the prince William ended an argument with his brother by using “their secret code”. As Harry tells in his memoirs, it took place on the day of Prince Philip’s funeral on April 17, 2021. The towel was already burning at the time between the two brothers. During a discussion, Prince William allegedly insisted that Harry look him in the eye, assuring him that he loved him and wished him happiness. Faced with the reluctance of Prince Harry, he would then have released the heavy artillery. Prince William reportedly used their secret code, three words they used only in cases of force majeure when discussion seemed to be impossible: “On Mom’s Life. Harold, listen to me, I only want your happiness. I swear Harold, I swear on mom life”.

If these words put an end to the dispute, it is not necessarily for the “good reasons”. Indeed, far from calming the situation, the evocation of the memory of their mother and the use of their secret code name, reserved for moments of extreme emergency, deeply troubled Harry. “It stopped me dead. Not because he used those words. But because it hadn’t worked this time. I just didn’t believe it”. The Death of Lady Di in 1997 welded Princes Harry and William like never. But for several years, they have only maintained relations “protocol obligation” rubbing shoulders at events like the funeral of Elizabeth II.
