The government is launching a new alert after the discovery of a risk of listeria contamination in sheep’s cheese sold throughout France, and in several brands. Be careful !

The alerts also affect the automobile market, the ready-to-wear sector and, even more, that offood. Canned sardines were in turn recalled, as were succulent chocolate éclairs sold at ALDI. THE cheeses are particularly concerned and the health authorities have also asked the French to be vigilant before eating the gorgonzola mascarpone that they recently purchased at Leclerc.
This sheep’s cheese can transmit listeriosis
This is the bacteria called Listeria which is the subject of this increased vigilance and, once again, it is this which pushes the manufacturer SCHOEPFER to demand the withdrawal of all supermarkets from a Corsican sheep’s cheese. This cheese was available on store shelves Spar, U express, The Little Casino, Intermarché, Lecasud or Leclercbetween June 5 and 10, 2024. Their expiration date had been set between June 23 and 29, depending on the date on which the product was put in plastic.

The site Consumption reminder provides more details to allow consumers to confidently determine whether or not they are affected. For this we give the GTIN (bar code) 3252540952692 and the number of lot 24024050. In the description of the recall sheet, it is stipulated that this “product to keep in the refrigerator” is presented in the form of a “portion of cheese in transparent film of approximately 200g (variable weight)”with sales reference “Schoepfer 95269”. We cannot recommend enough to exercise the greatest caution because this bacteria is capable of transmitting the listeriosisa infection which can lead to hospitalization in certain cases.

Symptoms are easily identifiable, such as fever, whether “isolated or accompanied by headaches and aches”, can we read on the said site. Furthermore, “serious forms with neurological complications and maternal or fetal damage in pregnant women can also sometimes occur”. Finally, we insist on the fact that listeriosis is a disease “severe” whose incubation period can go from up to eight weeks.
