This shiny hunter does the unthinkable in Pokémon Go

Shiny hunting is a very popular activity in Pokémon Go. This seasoned trainer has blown the community away with his impressive collection of shiny monsters.

There are many ways to enjoy Pokémon licensed games, and shiny hunting has become an extremely popular hobby in recent years. Indeed, many games in the franchise incorporate this extremely rare chromatic Pokémon mechanic that many trainers like to seek relentlessly.

In Pokémon Go, the majority of Pokémon have a 0.2% chance of appearing in their shiny version. Coming across one of these creatures is therefore a rare and precious moment that always has that little something exciting.

Nevertheless, some seasoned trainers set themselves the goal of collecting as many shiny Pokémon as possible, showing extraordinary patience in finding and capturing them using various techniques.

Obtaining the rarest Pokémon in shiny version represents a real achievement

On March 3, a player going by the alias lordofhunger1 shared his personal collection, shocking thousands of trainers.

A Pokémon Go player completes the shiny and lucky Kanto Pokédex

As soon as his post was posted on Reddit, trainer lordofhunger1 turned the Pokémon Go community upside down. Simply titled “Kanto’s Lucky Shiny Pokédex Completed”the post compiles 15 screenshots revealing the trainer’s collection.

Internet users thought they were dreaming while browsing the images, discovering that this extraordinary trainer had simply succeeded in obtaining all the Pokémon of the 1st generation in shiny and lucky versions.

The icing on the cake, the majority of regional shapes such as Raichu from Alola or Meowth from Galar are also included in the collection.

The most observant Internet users will still notice the absence of Mew, Kanto’s 151st Pokémon. Indeed, if the fabulous Psychic Pokémon does exist in a shiny version, it is impossible to exchange it and therefore to obtain the lucky version.

In the comments to his post, the author explains that he spent years putting together this collection:

It’s been my goal since Lucky Pokémon came along, and I started [à chasser des shiny] even before the arrival of lucky exchanges.

Despite this explanation, some Internet users had a hard time believing that such a feat was possible. Some trainers even wondered if he just cheated, to which lordofhunger1 replied:

I played a lot for a few years. Now I mostly spend time making lucky trades at work and on the go.

With his impressive collection, it is quite possible that this trainer will be the first to achieve the feat of bringing together all the lucky shiny from the first generation. It remains to be seen whether our seasoned collector intends to embark on a new challenge with the following generations.
