this “small” sports coupe is as massive as a Tesla Model 3

After the Nǎzhā (Neta) S sedan, the Chinese manufacturer intends to extend its range with the arrival of another electric car. A two-door, four-seater coupé with a style reminiscent of certain European and American models, the Neta E.

You may not know the Chinese manufacturer Nehza, and that’s normal, since it has not yet settled in Europe. Even in China, this builder is still in its infancyeven if its range is slowly but surely starting to expand.

A few months ago, Nehza presented a soberly named “S” sedan, which joined the two “U” and “V” SUVs already available in the catalog. The manufacturer draws its inspiration from European manufacturers.

The Nehza S looks like a mix between a Citroën at the front and an Audi e-tron GT at the back, while the Nehza E that we present to you today is a kind of mix between the new Lotus Emira and a Chevy Corvette.

The dimensions of a Tesla Model 3

However, the Nehza E is not a pure sports car. It is a two-door coupe with four seats. Nezha Automobile today released a series of photos of its new model which is expected to launch in the first half of 2023.

As is customary in China, the car also appeared in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Judging by the data relayed by IT Homethe new Nehza E measures 4.70 meters long, 1.98 meters wide, 1.41 meters high and has a wheelbase of 2.77 meters. We are far from the dimensions of a small sports car contrary to what one might imagine from the photos.

Two versions on the program

Regarding the engines, the car will have several versions. There will be a model with a single electric motor positioned at the rear axle (which will provide propulsion), while a version with two electric motors (thus making four-wheel drive) is also planned.

The smaller version would 170kW (about 231 hp), while the largest would claim 340kW (about 462 hp).

Regarding the batteries, there is no information available at the moment. We just know that the “smallest” variant will be able to do 560km with a single charge according to the Chinese CLTC homologation cycle, and up to 580km for the four-wheel-drive version.

If this electric car ever arrives in Europe, its mixed autonomy on the European WLTP cycle should rather be between 450 and 500 km. It would then have a hard time overshadowing the Tesla Roadster, unless its price, not yet known in China, is really affordable, which is very likely.

Chinese electric cars are much more expensive in Europe than in China: the 3 main reasons for this

“Chinese car” no longer necessarily rhymes with “low-cost”. Indeed, Chinese manufacturers setting up in Europe display their models at prices very close to “traditional” manufacturers, and therefore sometimes very far from…
