A new Android smartphone from the manufacturer behind Nokia could resurrect the iconic design of the Nokia Lumia, the Windows phone series that has disappeared since 2016.

Today, when you have to choose a smartphone, you are not spoiled for choice when it comes to the onboard operating system: Android Or iOS. But at a time not so long ago, a third alternative was possible, the Windows phone. Microsoft has indeed sought to break into the mobile sector with an in-house OS and the support of several manufacturers. Before disappearing completely, the range of Nokia Lumia, with its iconic design, left its mark on the minds of an entire generation. So much so that some have sought to extend their life by installing Android on it.

Those days are over and Nokia no longer offers smartphones under its name. But the manufacturer still exists under another name: HMD Global, or simply HMD. He specialized in feature phones, affordable models offered between €100 and €400. You can buy them in France recently since 3 models arrived here in April. They mark the break with the famous Finnish brand, but it seems that HMD is not completely denying its heritage. At least if we are to believe this leak concerning the HMD Skylineresembling a Nokia Lumia.

Almost all of the rumored features of the HMD Skyline are available. As usual, they must be taken conditionally before the smartphone is made official:

  • Processor : Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
  • RAM memory : 8 or 12 GB depending on the version chosen.
  • Storage : 256 GB.
  • Photo sensors :
    • Main: ISOCELL HM2 108 MP.
    • Ultra wide-angle: 8 MP.
    • Macro: 2 MP.
  • Selfie sensor : 32MP.
  • Battery : 4900 mAh, 33 W wired charging, 30 W wireless charging.
  • IP67 certification (protection against water and dust).
  • 3.5mm jack port.
  • NFC And Bluetooth 5.2.

The HMD Skyline should receive software updates for 3 years. In total, 4 colors would be offered. The 8 GB RAM version would cost €459while the 12 GB RAM version would be displayed at €499. A BE version (Business Edition) is also planned. Only available in black with 8 GB of RAM, it gains 5 additional years of updates after the initial 3 years. Its expected price is 520 . For the moment, we do not know if HMD plans to release the Skyline in France.
