Stellar Blade forces you to pick up all resources by pressing a key. A painful task, which can be overcome by activating a very practical option.
The video game Stellar Blade, available since April 26 exclusively on PlayStation 5, revolves around a sexy heroine who gains power over the hours. She receives experience points by fighting enemies, which allows her to unlock special skills. Also, Eve can collect resources to improve her equipment.
Stellar Blade therefore takes on the appearance of an RPG with this loot, which is obtained by defeating opponents, destroying crates or opening chests. However, by default, Stellar Blade forces players to manually pick up each resource, by pressing the R2 trigger on the DualSense controller. It must be recognized that this task quickly becomes daunting. Fortunately, there is an option to make your life easier.

Automatic pickup in Stellar Blade is to be activated
Pressing a button to collect loot is not insurmountable, unless you have to constantly repeat the action, sometimes in a context where visibility is problematic. Stellar Blade unfortunately ticks these two cases: we quickly get tired of pressing R2 to enrich ourselves with very useful objects, which we struggle to see on the screen.
The automatic pickup option, to be activated in the game menus (“Settings” and “Game” tabs), removes this constraint.
Automatic recovery of nearby objects is a feature which, once activated, vacuums up items in the area when you are close enough. They then end up directly in the inventory. No more staring and snooping. It’s a comfort that you can’t do without once you’ve tasted it.
Stellar Blade offers other options to sweeten the experience. You can switch to “Story” difficulty, which corresponds to an easy mode (be careful, the last bosses, unbalanced, remain particularly tenacious).
It is also possible to activate assistance in combat, in particular to place parries and dodges in perfect timing. The fact that the developers thought of reaching out to players is an excellent initiative. This allows Stellar Blade to be more accessible while its philosophy is based on technical combat and rich gameplay.
