In Germany, a Tesla Model S P85 owner has just passed the milestone of one million miles traveled.

A feat achieved by Hansjörg Gemmingen, who intends to enter his feat in the record books.

1.6 million km for this Tesla Model S

In 2019, a Tesla Model S P85 owner in Germany, Hansjörg Gemmingen, indicated that he had traveled more than a million kilometers aboard his electric vehicle acquired in 2014. On June 17, 2022, he wanted to share on Twitter a new record, his vehicle now showing 1 million miles on the clock, or just over 1.6 million kilometers.

To establish his record, Hansjörg Gemmingen wanted to drive all over Europe and notably crossed Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark and Slovakia. He also rode in China. The German wants to continue setting records in his Tesla Model S, but he is facing a serious problem. Indeed, if his first engine allowed to travel 778,000 km, Hansjörg Gemmingen is now on his eighth engine, the blocks installed by Tesla in recent years having not exceeded 200,000 km.…

The German driver has indicated that he would like to be able to reach 2 million kilometers aboard his Tesla in the next two years. Solving the engine problem would be an important condition for completing this project, but despite contacting the American manufacturer, the problem is still relevant. So much so that Hansjörg Gemmingen is considering switching to Lucid before trying to set other electric vehicle driving records.
