This announcement suggests that Tesla will indeed be able to hold its promise to launch the production of said pickup this summer.
Mass production… that will be (a little) later
As previously indicated, however, the firm should not be able to begin large-scale production of the Cybertruck before 2024. It would therefore be necessary to wait a few more months before taking advantage of large-volume deliveries for the vehicle. A shift that Elon Musk justifies by the complex implementation of the production lines dedicated to this relatively atypical pickup.

An atypical vehicle, complex to produce?
Tesla’s electric pickup will indeed benefit from certain specificities making its manufacture more difficult than a conventional vehicle. We know for example that the Cybertruck will have an automatic detection system for its driver and any passengers, allowing the unlocking and automatic opening of the doors. Consequently, no handle on the doors.
As the manufacturer initially envisioned, the vehicle will additionally be clad in a stainless steel body, which is more expensive than the steel typically used in the industry. The Verge also recalls that the Cybertruck requires special welding techniques, and its smaller components are custom made… which further complicates its production.
Finally, remember that the launch of the vehicle on the market has already been postponed several times. Announced for the first time in 2019, it was to be marketed from 2021, then during 2022. It will therefore finally arrive in 2023, but only in dribs and drabs while waiting for a wider launch in 2024.
We do not know, however, what will be the final price of the machine, whose prices had initially been set on a range ranging from 39,900 to 70,000 dollars depending on the engine chosen.
