Like other automakers, MINI is partnering with a brand known for its future electric business on two wheels.

And cocorico, it is the French company Angell which was chosen by the BMW group.

Angell alongside MINI

Less than a month ago, carmaker MINI lifted the veil on its all-new electric car, with a new zero-emission Countryman rolling off the Leipzig production line from the end of this year. Today, the BMW Group unveils MINI’s partner for the firm’s electric two-wheelers.

Indeed, in order to support MINI in its global electric strategy, the BMW group has decided to join forces with a well-known manufacturer in the electric bicycle market: Angell.

Bikes from 3,000 euros?

And if the name Angell sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because it’s a French company, created in 2019 by Marc Simoncini, to whom we also owe the creation of a certain Meetic. The French brand was thus retained by the BMW group, with the key to a five-year agreement.

For some time now, automakers have been scrambling to bring e-bikes to market, but these are rarely produced in-house. Recently, Audi lifted the veil on an impressive “Audi Sport e-tron Superbike” mountain bike, developed in partnership with the Italian brand Fantic.

Thus, future electric bikes badged MINI will be designed on the basis of models already offered by the Angell brand. These should be developed in France, in the factory located near Dijon. However, we will have to wait a little longer before discovering the first range of electric bikes made in MINI, with models that should be offered at a minimum of 3,000 euros.
