When we tell you that connected rings are on the rise, it’s not just a way of speaking. While Samsung exhibited, for the first time, its Galaxy Ring during the Mobile World Congress, before a release planned for the second half of the year, it is one of its main competitors in the field of smartphones which indicated, this Tuesday, want to launch your own connected ring in turn.

Questioned by the American channel CNBC, George Zhao, boss of Honor, indicated that he had launched the development of an Honor connected ring:

Internally we have this type of solution, now we are working on it, so in the future you can have an Honor Ring.

A ring that will analyze your health for personalized workouts

As reported by CNBC, the ring will be primarily designed as a device intended to measure activity, health or sleep data. Like Samsung, Honor also relies heavily on artificial intelligence, both to analyze and predict the user’s health, but also to make suggestions to improve their well-being: “ This device will work with our AI apps to provide you with running training programs because it will have analyzed your habits and health data to provide suggestions “.

Honor’s approach to AI integration is reminiscent of Amazfit, which this week announced its AI-based Zepp Flow assistant integrated into its sports watches. Amazfit also already offers personalized training programs integrated directly into the application based on health data. We also know that Samsung will rely heavily on AI for its Galaxy Ring, with Galaxy AI.

The announcement of the development of a connected ring at Honor is not really a surprise. If the market has long been dominated by specialized start-ups like Oura, Ultrahuman or Circular, it is now convincing broader players in consumer electronics. The arrival of Samsung in the sector only strengthens the credibility of the rings among other manufacturers and Amazfit announced, at CES in Las Vegas, its own ring, the Helio Ring. After Honor, we can easily imagine that other brands will launch in turn, such as Xiaomi, Oppo or Huawei.
