A bug discovered in the latest Insider build of Windows 11 prevents the PC from working properly. Microsoft’s patch is slow to come despite identifying the cause of the problem.
Among the bugs that affect the Windows 11 operating system, some are more annoying than others. For example, not being able to change your profile picture in the settings is not a big deal. Displaying a “white screen of death” is much worse. Typically, most issues are fixed before the update that causes them is rolled out to all users. This is particularly what the Windows Insider program. Registrants receive experimental builds in advance and report the problems they encounter to Microsoft so that they can be corrected.
It is precisely in the beta version numbered 25163 and dated June 5 that a very annoying bug has been spotted. Without doing anything in particular, users notice that CPU usage goes up to 100% and doesn’t go down. It doesn’t matter what model the component is, it doesn’t come into play. Using the PC then becomes very difficult, with almost everything finding itself slowed down or even completely unusable. The culprit has been identified.

Surprisingly, it is theMobile connected application who is responsible here, and she doesn’t even need to be active to generate the bug. The latter is located in the service Cross Device used by the program. Microsoft does not explain what exactly is happening, but indicates thatjust end it via Task Manager to return to normal CPU usage. Of course, this prevents Mobile Connecté from sharing data between devices and synchronizing them, two major interests of the app.
Members of the Windows Insider program deplore that the bug is still present more than a week after its discovery. Some question the way Microsoft sets its priorities. They point to the current efforts made by the firm on the Recall function, the launch of which has been postponed, visibly to the detriment of the fixes.
