ZDF director Dr. Thomas Bellut will not apply for a third term. This will end in March 2022.
ZDF director Dr. Thomas Bellut (65) stops: As ZDF announced in a press release, Bellut will not apply for a third term. "On March 15, 2022, after 40 exciting years in the media business, it will be time for a new chapter in life," Bellut is quoted as saying. There is still enough time to settle his successor.
Before that, the next twelve months would still present numerous challenges, according to Bellut. As examples, he listed the corona pandemic, digitization, the financial resources of the ZDF and election reporting. Bellut acted as program director from 2002 to 2012 and has been at the helm of ZDF since March 2012 and is responsible for all business and programming of the public broadcaster.
