Thomas Drechsel received many gifts and kind words when he left “GZSZ”. He showed off the memorabilia on Instagram.

Actor Thomas Drechsel is celebrating his 37th birthday this Monday. He has already received many gifts before. Because on Friday he had his last day of filming on “Good Times, Bad Times” and received some attention from his colleagues.

Farewell evening with the crew

After 15 years, Drechsel, who played the role of Max “Tuner” Krüger, is leaving the RTL series. The farewell visibly affected him can be seen from his Instagram account. “What a beautiful evening,” he wrote there alongside a picture that shows him with parts of the crew. “Thank you to everyone who was there. I hope that the memories of our shared stories never fade.” Then he added: “Wolfgang never actually looks like Gerner in his private life.”

He also received a poster from Wolfgang Bahro (63) with many pictures of the two of them – and the idea of a “new action series on Netflix” called “Invention for Two!”. “So sugar, thank you Wolfgang,” said Drechsel in an Instagram story in which he showed the gifts. “It’s so kind of you,” he said to his colleagues. For example, he received his “Thommy make-up bag” from the “mask girls”, and there was also a friends book in which his colleagues had signed up. “That broke my neck. So many kind words. You are indescribable,” the actor could hardly believe his happiness at the personal farewell gifts. All cast members also received a card – and a voucher for bowling in February. Then the “GZSZ” crew will probably say goodbye to Thomas Drechsel again.

Food videos on YouTube

He also received some restaurant vouchers. Perhaps a hint of his plans for the future. “I’m embarking on a culinary adventure,” he shared on Instagram. “On my channels, enjoyment becomes a passion. I create the most delicious dishes for you that you can easily recreate.” On YouTube he shows food videos in “Tommy’s Kitchen.”

RTL only informed about the surprising exit on January 9th. Thomas Drechsel was quoted in the press release as saying: “These 15 years were a very formative time in my life. Even though I would have liked to stay another 15 years, I can understand that the cast and the characters’ stories change at some point once told.” But he can well imagine a comeback. “I will miss you all very much. But I am firmly convinced that you always meet twice in your life,” he told the lovely “GZSZ team” on Instagram. He will remain with viewers for a while: the last episode with him will be broadcast in the spring.
