Entertainer Thomas Gottschalk, 74, thanked everyone on Instagram for the numerous congratulations on his engagement. In response to the comments that were collected under his engagement post on the platform, he wrote: “Thank you for all the good wishes! It’s great that you are so happy for me!”

In the post, the presenter can be seen dressed all in white with his partner Karina Mroß, 62, who is wearing a summer dress with a floral pattern. In the picture, he appears to be putting a ring on her finger. Thomas Gottschalk writes: “Maybe you’ve already read it: I’m engaged!” The 74-year-old then continues on Instagram: “But I forgot the engagement ring in the hotel safe and had to quickly make one out of candy wrappers. Remember: never leave the house without Wehrter’s Echte!” An additional photo in the post also shows a sparkling ring.

In addition to numerous fans, Thomas Gottschalk and Karina Mroß are also congratulating prominent colleagues on their engagement on Instagram: TV star Evelyn Burdecki, 35, wrote: “How beautiful, love is in the air. Congratulations.” Victoria Swarovski, 30, also sent a love emoji and a “congratulations.” There were further hearts in the comments from presenters Frauke Ludowig, 60, and Vera Int-Veen, 56, among others.

Thomas Gottschalk has been divorced for a few weeks

In 2019, the separation of Thomas and Thea Gottschalk, 78, became public. The couple had married in 1976. Shortly after the separation, the presenter appeared in public for the first time with his new partner Karina Mroß in 2019. In May 2024, Gottschalk confirmed to the “Bild” newspaper that he was officially divorced from Thea. Shortly afterwards, he became engaged to his new partner.
