Bye-bye, curls! TV icon has a new hairstyle

Thomas Gottschalk and his blond curly hair go together like Monday morning and coffee. That’s enough of that! The entertainer made short work of it, in the truest sense of the word.
Thomas Gottschalk, 71, without his blond curls ?! Hardly imaginable! At the RTL annual review “People, Pictures, Emotions”, it wasn’t just the TV viewers who were amazed: the inside was bad when the presenter stepped in front of the camera. Moderation colleague Günther Jauch, 65, also had to look twice.

Snap snap! Thomas Gottschalk actually did it and got rid of his trademark! Gone are the days when the TV icon walked around with a curly whale mane. The curls are gone, instead the 71-year-old now wears a dashing short haircut, the hair no longer even reaches the chin. The short front part only falls to his forehead. “Mr. Herbstblond”, as he is also called based on his book, has never worn so short.

Gottschalk also changed his facial hair. The classic three-day beard had to give way to another version. Now there is only beard around Gottschalk’s mouth, while the cheeks are clean-shaven. The new look of the “Wetten, dass ..?” Veteran is hotly debated on the internet. A Twitter user remarks ironically: “I thought the disaster year is slowly coming to an end. Gottschalk comes onto the stage with a new hairstyle …” Another expresses his indignation about the new haircut with a GIF.
Gottschalk or Branson?
Comparisons with space billionaire Richard Branson, 71, also come up on social networks. “I don’t see any difference,” writes one user about a photo collage in which Gottschalk and Branson can be seen side by side.
And in fact, the two men in the photos that the user has selected look strikingly similar. Light, short hair with waves, dark beard – the similarity cannot be denied.
