Thomas Gottschalk turned 70 in May, but there is no retirement for him. These shows with him will run for the coming months.
Thomas Gottschalk (70) switched from Bayerischer Rundfunk to SWR at the beginning of the year. In the talk show "maischberger. Die woche" in December 2019, the entertainer said that people had noticed "that my living conditions have changed a bit, so I'm also changing my plans". The 70-year-old now lives in Baden-Baden with his partner Karina Mroß. And with SWR he not only realizes radio shows – as the broadcaster has now announced, there are also two new entertainment formats on television with the entertainer. In addition, the ZDF is still the postponed special edition of the former Saturday evening show "Wetten, dass ..? An …
New shows on Erste and SWR television
At the end of the Corona year, however, Gottschalk will first present a format in the first that will probably be called "Thomas Gottschalk: 2020 – the show", as the SWR has just announced. He wants to greet guests "who have had to do without in the last few months – and catch up on special experiences with them. Celebrities and non-celebrities can make their big appearance on the show, share emotional moments and of course have a lot of fun," he promises Channel.
From the spring of 2021, Gottschalk will also be presenting the new eight-part show series "Nochmal 18!" for SWR television and the ARD media library. In the new primetime show, the presenter will travel back to the age of majority with his celebrity guests and talk about when and how they celebrated their 18th birthday. There should also be a lot of music.
"Bet that..?" comes back in 2021
In May it was a sad certainty: ZDF announced that the special edition of the former cult Saturday evening show "Wetten, dass ..?" (1981-2014) with moderator Thomas Gottschalk, who celebrated his 70th birthday in May 2020, will be postponed to next year due to the coronavirus pandemic. And Gottschalk's commitment to the SWR will not change that.
"Of course we will celebrate next year – and then, incidentally, to coincide with the show's 40th birthday – 'Wetten, dass ..?' -Show. And who else should moderate it? ", ZDF program director Norbert Himmler explained in an interview with" DWDL.de "in early September.
Game show on RTL
With "Because they don't know what's happening! The Jauch-Gottschalk-Schöneberger Show", the entertainer was also just seen on RTL. At the beginning of September, the sixth episode of the second season of the successful game show with the three show greats Günther Jauch (64), Barbara Schöneberger (46) and Thomas Gottschalk ran.
After his line in "Wetten, dass ..?" In 2011 Gottschalk could already be seen in various formats, with more or less success. With "Gottschalk Live", for example, he had a talk show on the first, at the RTL casting show "Das Supertalent" he sat next to Dieter Bohlen (66) on the jury, with "Die 2 – Gottschalk & Jauch gegen alle" he was also until 2017 on the air on RTL. On Sat.1 he presented the talent show "Little Big Stars" and last year on BR the literary program "Gottschalk reads?"
