Now it is official: Thomas Müller from FC Bayern has tested positive for the corona virus and is out for the upcoming games.

Bayern player Thomas Müller (31) has tested positive for the corona virus. This is announced by FC Bayern Munich on its website. Accordingly, the test took place at the FIFA Club World Cup in Doha, where Müller was immediately isolated. The rest of the FC Bayern team was also tested on Thursday – without any further positive results, as they say. When they arrived last Friday, they all tested negative.

For Bayern Munich this means that they will have to do without Müller in the final of the Club World Cup against Mexican club UANL Tigres. He is also out of the Bundesliga home game on Monday against Arminia Bielefeld. It is not clear when Müller will return to Munich. The information that he will be quarantined there in coordination with the responsible authorities suggests that the 31-year-old will cure the disease at home.
