Thor 4: Will Gorr’s daughter join the Young Avengers?

Warning, spoilers for “Thor: Love and Thunder” follow!

• Gorr’s daughter, Love, is raised by Thor at the end of “Thor 4” – to become a superheroine!
• It stands to reason that she will join the Young Avengers around Ms. Marvel in the future.
• In the comics, Thor has various daughters, some of whom become superheroes.

At the end of Thor: Love and Thunder, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) raises Gorr’s (Christian Bale) child and fights the villains of the galaxy with her. Love, as she is known, wields Thor’s battle ax Stormbreaker and displays superhuman strength – will she join the Young Avengers in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)?

The Young Avengers are a team of young superheroes who will sooner or later take over the baton of the Avengers and also act alongside them. Marvel has already made big strides in the direction of the Young Avengers through Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) and even Wanda’s children.

Another member has likely been introduced with Love, played by Chris Hemsworth’s real-life daughter in Thor 4. She dies at the beginning of the film and since Gorr cannot save her, not even with the help of the gods, he becomes the godslayer. At the end of the film, Gorr stands before the powerful being Eternity, who grants him a wish. Gorr wishes his daughter back.

Even if Love is brought back to life, Gorr dies. Before that, however, he receives a promise from Thor that he will raise his daughter. And Thor seems to do well as a father and King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) also seems to support him – at least in combat training.

There is no comic counterpart to her. However, in the Marvel comics, Thor has daughters from time to time, depending on the era and the comic plot. A recent story about Thor’s daughter, Brigid, seems to be the most appropriate reference point for upcoming movies and makes a wonderful connection between Thor 4 and The Marvels.
