Thore Schölermann: The presenter wants to hand over nature to his children without contaminated sites

Thore Schölermann is very committed to environmental protection and sustainability. So he would like to leave nature to his future children.

Environmental protection begins in your own four walls. Obviously, "The Voice of Germany" presenter Thore Schölermann (36) and his wife Jana (33) see it that way. "We live very consciously," explains Schölermann in an interview. For example, they tried to buy regionally, not throw away any food and generally produce less rubbish. The two would also eat less meat: "I go hunting myself and know what it means to kill an animal in order to eat it." Many would have lost this connection.

However, he does not see himself as "extreme or perfect" when it comes to sustainability, but he and his wife try to "improve something here and there". If everyone does that, you can achieve a lot together. That's why Schölermann drives through the country in an electric car for the energy supplier Eon together with the science Youtuber Jacob Beautemps (27) as part of the "We move more – The Germany Tour" and campaigns for a sustainable energy future on site.

Thore Schölermann wishes that for his children

On a personal level, his commitment goes so far that people who "don't bother with this at all or who don't care about nature" could not become his friends. For Schölermann, such an awareness is part of "clear common sense". He and his wife Jana are planning to have children with whom he wants to "enjoy our beautiful nature" in the future. "I don't want you to have to struggle with contaminated sites," continued Schölermann.

He is currently again working as a presenter for the ProSieben / Sat.1 casting show "The Voice of Germany". He loves this format because he likes to laugh with the candidates and not at them: "We give people a chance to show what they can do." After a strenuous day of filming, the best way to relax is with "a short walk, then a foot bath and then a beer and pizza in bed." That is "perfect" for him.
