Threads is now the most downloaded iPhone app in the United States. Soon in the world?

The new app Threadswhich offers a social network competitor to Twitter, has exploded all competition on the App Store in the United States.

Since its release on July 6, Threads has been a huge success. The platform chained crazy numbers, even setting a new record that relegated ChatGPT well back. Today, we have new proof of this triumphant launch with data from the App Store.

One week, and already number 1

Threads, Threads, Threads… This name has been absolutely everywhere in the media for the past few days. But if obviously, some may think that we are dealing with a media object, the Twitter killer created by Meta also proves by itself that it deserves as much attention.

Latest argument? The list of the most downloaded applications last week in the United States, where of course we find the inevitable social network… in first place, ahead of the two other hits Temu and Remini. A gold medal all the more impressive as the platform was only launched, as a reminder, in the middle of last week!

The same success to expect in Europe?

Elsewhere, the success is similar. Thus, despite its formal ban in China, Threads was 24 hours after its launch the fifth most downloaded application in the entire App Store. If Mark Zuckerberg’s latest baby performs as well in Apple’s two largest global markets, one wonders what it will do when it is finally available here, in the territory of the European Union.

One of two things. Either the Threads fashion is here to stay and should therefore find a particularly impatient audience within our borders. Or, second option and clear sign of a (very big) passing trend, the time that the authorizations are given by Brussels, the craze will have subsided, and Threads will then be available without exploding the counters with us. Will the Old Continent then serve as a revealer?
