Threads will no longer harass you to publish your posts on Facebook and Instagram

Meta has finally listened to its users to get rid of one of its worst flaws. Since its launch, the social network has strongly encouraged people to share their publications on Facebook and Instagram, in order to create even more engagement. It is now possible to deactivate these messages, to take full (and only) advantage of the new social network.

Threads phonandroid thread

At the beginning there was Threads. But Threads wasn’t perfect, so the app had a great idea: listen to the advice and requests of its users. This is how Meta’s new social network quickly acquired a news feed reserved for followed accounts. Since then, it has continued to integrate new features, either to complement itself or to correct slightly annoying defects.

If you live outside of Europe, or if you have the chance to test Threads before it was blocked on the Old Continent, you know that the application has the unfortunate tendency to systematically ask if you want to share the post that we just wrote on Facebook and Instagram. Very often, the answer is obviously no… which does not prevent Threads from coming back to the charge each time.

Threads emancipates itself a little more from Facebook and Instagram

Fortunately, Threads once again listened to its community to improve. Now there is an option to deactivate these frustrating messages. To do this, simply go to Settings > Privacy > Share your posts on other apps. Note that the latter is not yet available in France, which is not surprising given that the social network is not yet officially available in Europe.

On this subject, it seems that the deployment on our side of the globe will not be long. The information comes to us from Alessandro Paluzzi, an engineer used to unearthing the next new features in Meta’s services. The latter shared a screenshot of the application suggesting that Mark Zuckerberg’s group is preparing to lift the blockade in Europe. As a reminder, the latter waits to comply with the DSA before opening the floodgates.
