three apps to facilitate co-parenting

2houses

Since 2011, the 2houses app has provided separated parents with tools that are easy to learn and likely to “Remove emotional stress” : a care schedule for each child of the parental couple, connected and shared, to be developed according to pre-established models (alternating care every other week, every other weekend, in 3-3-4-4, in 2-2 -5-5 or even 2-2-3) or customizable, as well as expense management and a parental messaging space. This is also the basic triptych of co-parenting apps. Some drawbacks: on 2houses, you have to create contacts one by one, without being able to import them from your existing digital directory, and the documents to be shared will only be accessible once downloaded from the app’s website. Still, it is a guarantee of tranquility. However, tranquility has a price … perhaps a little high at 2houses.

Share (d)

Created in 2017, the Share (d) (ex-Coot) app brings together a range of tools to facilitate family logistics for parental couples, whether separated or not. No more missed appointments, cobbled together alternate residence calendars and questions left unanswered because you do not want to increase contact with your ex, or want to save yourself yet another conflict: this social network ergonomic centralizes one, and even several shared premium calendars, tailor-made for blended families – with “SOS replacement” function to request a helping hand, and synchronization with Google and Outlook calendars -, as well as to do lists with deadlines, a news feed, Facebook wall style, and a “parents’ corner” away from prying ears. Finally, each feature can be either accessible to all members of this space, or privatized: no need for Lena to come across the financial summary of her divorced parents!

2forkids

2forkids, with its no-frills interface, has been playing the free card since 2017. Just like 2houses and Share (d), it allows you to view the care schedule and appointments linked to one or more children, to follow the expenses incurred by each of the parents and constitutes a precious safe in which to collect administrative documents. or practical information (the size of the youngest, the size of the oldest…). Any modification can be the subject of a configurable notification, by email or on smartphone. Ideal for being notified or advising, in real time, of any change concerning your child. If, within the app, the family sphere can involve a step-parent or a grandparent, and be extended to a childminder, the privatization of certain positions, such as that of finance, is not very intuitive. Visually, this app has everything from the uninviting dashboard and could deter more than a cautious spouse. Children refrain.
