JBL unveiled at the IFA in Berlin three connected speakers inspired by an emblematic model of the brand, the JBL Authentics 200, Authentics 300 and Authentics 500.
In addition to its new headphones, earphones and PartyBox speaker, JBL also took advantage of the IFA 2023 show in Berlin to unveil a new range of living room speakers with a more hi-fi orientation.
Called JBL Authentics and made up of three connected speakers, this range is in fact largely inspired by the JBL L100 speaker launched in 1974 – itself inspired by the JBL 4310 studio speaker. In detail, the new JBL Authentics range therefore consists of three new connected speakers: the JBL Authentics 200, the JBL Authentics 300 and the JBL Authentics 500.
JBL Authentics 200 and 300 stereo speakers
The JBL Authentics 200 offers stereo sound with two 1-inch-diameter tweeters for treble and a 5-inch full-range speaker for midrange and bass. It also embeds a passive radiator to mechanically increase the low frequencies. The speaker does not include a battery and is therefore necessarily wired. However, it offers Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, is multiroom compatible and can work with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice assistants, both integrated directly into these speakers to adapt to the user’s ecosystem.
For its part, the JBL Authentics 300 wants to be a little more advanced in terms of characteristics. It differs above all from the Authentics 200 model by the integration of a battery allowing it to be used on the move with up to eight hours of autonomy.
A JBL Authentics 500 Dolby Atmos compatible speaker
Finally, the JBL Authentics 500 represents the top of the range of the new JBL Authentics speakers. As such, it offers three one-inch tweeters and three 2.75-inch speakers. It is also accompanied by a 6.5-inch remote subwoofer for an advertised power of 270 watts and a 3.1 architecture. Note, however, that the JBL Authentics 500 does not have a battery and must therefore be powered from the mains. Like the other two models, it provides Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Ethernet connectivity, but also benefits from Dolby Atmos compatibility.
The three new speakers from JBL are clearly positioned as premium speakers with a price of 299.99 euros for the JBL Authentics 200, 399.99 euros for the JBL Authentics 300 and 599.99 euros for the JBL Authentics 500. three loudspeakers will be launched on the market during the month of September.
