Security forces prevent massacres in Jerusalem

Radical Palestinians repeatedly attack Israelis. Three men are now trying to kill security forces in Jerusalem. They fail and are shot themselves. Their arsenal of weapons suggests that they were planning a major massacre.
According to Israeli reports, six security forces were injured in an armed attack on a checkpoint near Jerusalem. According to police, three men attacked the checkpoint between Jerusalem and the Israeli-occupied West Bank. According to police chief Kobi Schabtai, the attackers were carrying pistols, axes and ammunition for “a major attack or massacre in Israel.” “The three attackers from this morning are dead,” said a police spokesman. Initially it was said that the attackers had been “neutralized”.
According to the Israeli rescue service Magen David Adom, four security guards suffered gunshot wounds and one of them was in mortal danger. Two other security guards were slightly injured.
Police chief: Major attack seemed to have been planned
Israeli police said “three terrorists arriving by car from the West Bank” had fired on security forces. “Given the amount of ammunition, pistols and axes found in the car, it appears as if the attackers were planning a major attack or massacre in Israel,” police chief Shabtai said. The checkpoint monitors road tunnels that connect the West Bank and Jerusalem.
The attack came on the 41st day of the war between Israel and the Islamist Palestinian organization Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip. On October 7, hundreds of Hamas fighters entered Israel and committed atrocities, mostly against civilians. According to Israeli information, around 1,200 people were killed in Israel and around 240 people were taken hostage to the Gaza Strip.
Israel then began massively attacking targets in the Gaza Strip and launched a ground offensive. An Israeli military operation began on Wednesday in the largest hospital in the Palestinian territory. According to Hamas figures, which cannot be independently verified, around 11,500 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the war began.
Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas, more than 190 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank by the Israeli army or radical Israeli settlers, according to Palestinian figures. The army justifies its increased operations and raids in the West Bank with a “significant increase in terrorist attacks.” Accordingly, there have been “more than 550 attempted attacks” in the West Bank since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip.
