Three Film Deals for Novel Collection "Bloody News"

Stephen King's latest collection of novels "Bloody News" has received three offers for film deals.

Horror author Stephen King (72, "Es") was offered several film deals for his latest collection of novels "Blutige Nachrichten" (original title: "If It Bleeds") just three months after its release in April: streaming service Netflix, production company Blumhouse Productions and director Ryan Murphy have teamed up to make a film version of the first book, "Mr. Harrisgans Telefon". John Lee Hancock is to write the script, as reported by the online portal "Deadline".

More film deals for Stephen King

The film adaptation of the novel "Ratte" should go to Ben Stiller (54, "Zoolander") – he wants to produce it, direct it and also play the main role. Another film deal is said to come from Oscar-nominated director Darren Aronofsky (51, "Black Swan"): he wants to produce "Chuck's Life". The US broadcaster HBO also wants to produce the fourth novella "Bloody News".

Stephen King: Film rights for a dollar

By the way, Stephen King sells the film rights to his popular books for just one dollar. He wants to support young filmmakers and young directors. The horror icon calls these films his "Dollar Babies" – there is even a list of open books on his website.
