For reasons that are not yet known, the battery of an e-bike caught fire in a basement in Oberlienz (East Tyrol) on Friday evening. He must have exploded.
A resident of a house in Oberlienz noticed the smell of burning around 7:30 p.m. and alerted the fire brigade. The Oberlienz, Oberdrum and Glanz fire brigades deployed around 50 emergency services and seven vehicles and were able to quickly extinguish the small fire. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The amount of property damage has not yet been determined.
