The famous French manufacturer specializing in products dedicated to health returns with two new connected watcheswhich bring with them many new features.
It’s been nearly three years since Withings released new connected watches, and it’s on the occasion of IFA 2023, which is being held right now in Berlin, that the French brand is presenting the successor to the ScanWatch, soberly baptized ScanWatch 2.
Temperature monitoring is the main novelty of the ScanWatch 2
The ScanWatch 2 takes up the design of the first ScanWatch of the name and again offers an analog watch, with a fixed dial and hands, on which there is also an LCD screen which tells you the number of steps, your heart rate, or even some of the notifications received on your smartphone. It is available in two versions of 38 and 42 millimeters.
The ScanWatch 2 adds body temperature monitoring to its many readings. This feature is not new, the Apple Watch Series 8 has been offering it for almost a year, but Withings goes further by announcing 24/7 temperature monitoring. The watch will be able to analyze the variations of the reference temperature during the day and during the night as well as during the exercises.
The new Withings connected watch also offers an integrated ECG for monitoring possible risks of atrial fibrillation as well as monitoring the oxygen content of the blood (SpO2) and an estimate of VO2Max.
Finally, the autonomy has been seriously revised, with a duration of use estimated at 30 days by the brand, which is double the first version. Withings uses a few mechanisms, such as a power saving mode when the user sleeps, to optimize power consumption.
The Withings ScanWatch 2 is available today for pre-order for a release scheduled for October at a price of 349.95 euros.
A less advanced, but cheaper version with the ScanWatch Light
If the ScanWatch 2 is a little too advanced and too expensive for you, Withings also has a solution with the connected watch ScanWatch Light.
This model offers you this time a smaller screen of 37 millimeters. The design remains roughly the same, but the watch loses the ECG and SpO2 measurement, and of course does not include the new body temperature analysis, which remains exclusive to the ScanWatch 2. to it fixed at 30 days.
The ScanWatch Light is also available for pre-order now, for a price of 249 euros. Deliveries are expected to begin by mid-September.
