Storms are expected this Saturday afternoon in fifteen departments located in Lorraine, Champagne, Burgundy or Auvergne, placed in orange vigilance by Météo France.
The departments concerned are: Allier, Ardennes, Aube, Côte-d’Or, Loire, Marne, Haute-Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Moselle, Nièvre, Puy-de-Dôme, Saône-et-Loire, Vosges and Yonne.
Météo France predicts a “stormy summer situation which requires particular vigilance given the risk of violent phenomena in territories already strongly impacted by previous storms”.
Heavy rain and hail are expected
Gusts “often between 80 and 100 km / h” are expected, as well as “intense rains”, hailstorms and strong electrical activity.
The south-east, on the other hand, retains very sunny weather with temperatures close to 30 degrees at the best of the day, unlike the north-western half of the country which does not exceed 23 degrees.
